Are you feeling hopeful yet?

In Affirmation, Meditation, Self-Reflection by adminLeave a Comment

I must be honest here. Transparent. Since the election I haven’t been feeling that well. I’ve been caught up in the chaos and finding it difficult to feel the love.<3 “My heart is Heavy” My heart is heavy. It aches. For the mess our country is in. For the state of other nations. For my son and “daughter in love” and the world they are needing to navigate. And when I pause to consider my future grandchildren I realize I’m holding my breath. Then there’s my 89-year old mother who fell earlier this month – broke her hip and is recovering …

Saluti Cari Cuori (Greetings Dear Hearts)

Spero che stiate tutto bene. (I hope you are all well.) Ho avuto una brutta influenza. (I’ve had a nasty flu.) E sto prendendo lezioni di Italiano. (And, I’m taking Italian classes.) Let’s just say thank goodness for google translate because at my age learning a language does not come easy! What was I thinking? I suppose I was thinking that somehow I’d hear a word or phrase that held the secret to unlocking my Italian lineage. Then magically my DNA would spring into action and just like that I’d be fluent. Ha ha… not yet anyway. Though to be …

Guess Who I Found In the Middle Of A Maelstrom?

In Meditation, Psychology, Retreat, Yoga by admin16 Comments

More of Me. “What’s she talking about?” you might be asking. Perhaps you’ve noticed I’ve been incognito the past few months. Many of you have sweetly reached out inquiring as to my where about. Much appreciated. Today I’m here to tell you that I’ve been smack dab in the center of a serious health concern. A couple in fact. One thing I’ve learned is that you can be certain that life is uncertain. Unpredictable. At any given moment we are greeted with great joy, faced with immense suffering, and met with neutrality. Often within seconds. Or three breaths. Several years …

Oh My Gosh – It was Crazy!

In Meditation, Retreat, Yoga by adminLeave a Comment

I can’t sleep. Tossing and turning. My husband and dog softly snoring. I slip out of bed. Grab my water. Pad to my office on the other side of the house. Fire up my computer. Start writing.  Sometimes when I’m writing it’s agonizingly slow. But tonight I’m in a rhythm. Words flowing in the dark of night. A distant rumble. And then a herd of elk pounding across the roof. No. It’s a micro-burst. Wait. Are there people stampeding. I think the foam roof is being ripped off. What the heck. Could it be an earthquake? From the sky? I …

The Number One Way to Decide – “Is This Really For Me?”

In Meditation, Retreat, Self-Reflection, Yoga by adminLeave a Comment

Because tons of choices can be bad for your health. It’s 108 degrees out and I’m sitting at a table in an air-conditioned Starbucks waiting for my assistant. And, for my body temperature to cool down so that I can make a somewhat coherent decision. I’m not a Starbucks junkie or frequent flyer. But it’s a great location for us to meet and get some work done. Staring at the menu items my head spins with the drink options. New -Cold Brew Coffee. Iced Caramel Macchiato. Espresso Con Panna. Evolution Fresh Cold-Pressed Juice. Handcrafted Fizzio Soda… What the heck? And …

December – The Psychology of Sacred Times

In Creative Visualization, Meditation, New Year, Psychology, Self-Reflection, Uncategorized by PauletteLeave a Comment

I don’t know about you, but December arrived on my doorstep before I even finished putting away Thanksgiving left-overs. My heart quickens, its beat accelerating, as my internal time piece sets off alarm bells warning me that I’m far behind schedule in the holiday merry-making plans. I’m sure you relate. So please, put aside the shopping list for a few minutes and read on, because it’s important to remember that December is a most compelling and sacred time of year. December 16, at sunset, marks the first day of Hanukkah ending on nightfall December 24. December 21 brings the winter solstice to the Northern Hemisphere, with a new moon blessing on the 22. While the 25th of December finds many people celebrating Christmas. Regardless of religious affiliation, we sense a potency, and feel the powerful energies as …

Are You Hiding? Are You Playing Hide and Seek with Your SELF?

In Meditation, Moon Series #1, Self-Reflection, Uncategorized, W.O.R.T.H., Yoga by PauletteLeave a Comment

Happy Fall! Here in Arizona fall has truly arrived. Yesterday morning after my meditation practice I walked out my back door, steaming coffee mug in hand, just to feel the chill and crispness of this November’s air. In awe I gazed upwards at the early morning sky that was stark with billowing grey clouds. Standing on the cool pavers in my bare feet I felt connected to the earth and the sky as I watched the sun peek through patches of blue sky. Then in a blink the clouds swooped in and once again the sun was concealed from view. For most Arizonans a change in weather is a thrill, especially cool and …

Do You Know the Meaning of This Word…?

In Meditation, Moon Series #1, Self-Reflection, Step into the Flow, Yoga by PauletteLeave a Comment

Greetings to you…it’s October! For those of us in Arizona we are delighted to feel a shift in the air and in the energy. If you listen closely you will hear a collective sigh as we throw open our doors and windows to welcome in Fall. If you’re like me, Fall is a special time of year and I often feel called to curl up with a cup of tea and sit with a journal jotting down my thoughts as we move into the last quarter of the year. It’s a time that invokes contemplation in order to plants seeds …

September Equinox – the Equality of the Light and the Dark.

In Meditation, Moon Series #1, Self-Reflection, Step into the Flow, W.O.R.T.H., Yoga by PauletteLeave a Comment

Today, September 22 at 7:29PM MST, here in Arizona the Sun will cross over an imaginary line above the Earth’s equator. With the Sun crossing at this direct point the length of day and night are nearly equal. In our northern hemisphere it is also called the autumn/fall equinox. In the southern hemisphere it is the spring/vernal. We are experiencing the same as our friends down under, yet not. It’s a similar occurrence, yet different. A topsy turvy phenomenon. It reminds me of Yoga. All of Yoga. The longer I live this path, thank goodness, my capacity increases for understanding that there …

Yesterday I had to ask for help.

In Meditation, Self-Reflection, W.O.R.T.H. by PauletteLeave a Comment

Way back in May I was hit with a severe upper respiratory infection. That alone was pretty humbling. Plus, the fact that I hardly ever get sick, and when I do it’s a little cold that’s over in a few days, really threw me for a loop. The frustrating thing is – this little bug just does not want to let go. So, I’m having a battle of the wills and yesterday IT won. I had to reach out and ask a friend, yet again, to teach one of my yoga classes. If you know me, you’ll know that I’m …
